Connection Fellowship Church exists to see people saved, transformed, gathered, and sent out by the Gospel as we passionately celebrate God’s greatness together.
(A) The Gospel Saves – Therefore, Connection Fellowship will preach the gospel to non-believers
Our Triune God created humanity to worship and be in fellowship with Him. Yet humanity decided to worship self instead of God, which resulted in sin and idolatry. The fall undermined man’s fellowship with God, left all of creation broken, and resulted in both physical and spiritual death (Rom. 8:20-21; Rom. 5:12; Eph. 2:3; Ps. 51:5). The good news of the gospel is that in spite of all of creation being fallen, and man being dead in sin, God intervened based on his love and mercy. He did so by sending his son Jesus Christ to reconcile all things by taking on human flesh so that he could live for, die for, and be resurrected for those who are separated from God (Col. 1:20; Rom. 5:19; Rom. 6:1-10). Salvation is a free gift of God that is received through faith in Christ (Eph. 2:8). This gospel is the free offer of full pardon from sin and a new record before God. The gospel is also the promise of being released from the dominion of sin and the gift of a new home. This is the gospel that Connection Fellowship Church will unashamedly live and preach to the city of Piedmont, SC.
(B) The Gospel Transforms – Therefore, Connection Fellowship will preach the gospel to believers
The gospel is for both non-Christians and Christians alike. In salvation the gospel gives us a right standing before God, and in daily Christian living creates in us a desire to love God and be holy as He is holy (1 Peter 1:16). The gospel is the primary fuel for living the Christian life. We will only be motivated to love God and love our neighbors as we daily reflect on God’s love for us experienced in the gospel (Matt. 22:37-39). We are committed to continually preaching the gospel to our church in the hope that the love we experience through it will enable Connection Fellowship Church to live for God and bring Him glory.
(C) The Gospel Gathers – Therefore, Connection Fellowship will gather together as the body of Christ
The fall distorted our relationship with God and one another. Yet through being restored to a right relationship with God through the gospel we can have true authentic community with one another. As a local expression of the body of Christ in Piedmont we are dedicated to covenanting together and committing our lives to one another. We will strive to be a diverse covenant community welcoming all ages, ethnicities, and backgrounds. We will seek to love one another which will act as an apologetic to those who do not know God (John 17:23). Lastly, we will gather together for weekly corporate worship and small group fellowship as a visible picture of the body of Christ and the power of the gospel. Our small groups exist to glorify God through Gospel-centered, consistent fellowship: includes prayer, doing life together, service, accountability, transparency, mission, growing in biblical knowledge and application.
(D) The Gospel Sends – Therefore, Connection Fellowship will take the gospel to the ends of the earth
When the gospel saves us the gospel sends us. Jesus told his disciples “As the father has sent me, I am sending you” (John 20:21). We believe God is sending Connection Fellowship Church to Piedmont, SC and wherever else He has strategically placed you through home, school, and work. Therefore, we will strive to be a sent community living as fishers of men (Luke 5:10-11) by taking the gospel to our workplace, our neighborhoods, and to the cities where we live. We believe that the church is God’s plan A to bring salvation to the ends of the earth and to make disciples of all nations (Matt. 28:18-20). As a result, Connection Fellowship Church will support missions, send missionaries, and plant churches for the glory of God. We encourage our people to give sacrificially of their time, talents, and finances to make these desires a reality. Giving to our Missionary Money Fund is one way to we encourage personal involvement in the lives of out of state and overseas missionaries. We desire to prayerfully send, give, connect, and serve alongside these missionary partners. Connection Fellowship exists to glorify God through gospel sharing and gospel living both locally and abroad.
